Little Things Matter

This saying reminds me of speifically such times strangers and my close ones were really kind to me.

"You're very beautiful" she said.

I didn't know this woman. But a moment ago I was admiring her beauty. She came up to me to tell me that I'm beautiful. It made my day. I still haven't forgotten about that amazing gesture. Everytime I feel ugly or worthless I remember that woman. I don't know her name neither did I see her after that day but she did make an impact on my life. It may have been a very small thing for her but it mattered a lot to me.

 It also reminds me of the time I boarded a really crowded bus while getting back home after college. I was really tired and there was absolutely no place to sit. That's when an old man offered his seat to me saying, "Here take this seat, you might be tired." 

Even though i didn't accept the seat, I was really touched by that gesture. It made me feel really good. The fact that an old man offered to give me his seat seeing how tired I was made me realize that not everyone in this world is bad. Good people do exist!

Once I was really very sad for some reason and I just happened to tell one of my best friends about it. She didn't do anything huge, she just told me, "Come, I'll give you company. You can't be sad alone." That one sentence mattered to me more than any chocolates or gifts. It's that one sentence that made me feel I wasn't alone.

Small efforts and gestures by people many at times mean alot to many. For them it would be like a very petty thing, but the other person never forgets it. That small gesture makes a huge impact on one's life. 

You might not feel it's such a big deal but to that person it is a big deal. These small gestures tell what kind of a person you are. These gestures make a really strong impact on one. It brings a wave of positivity in one's life. There are times you even know you've touched a particular person's life. 

Simple gestures are something that means alot to someone. But, I feel it's kind of underrated. Nowadays most of the people expect grand gestures to show love and kindness. Like, is it so necessary that you make a very big gesture to show your love to someone? Does the person who takes his loved one to a five star restaurant to show their love better than a person who cooks food and watches a movie at home with their loved one? No right! It's the thought that counts. 

So, my point is that appreciate those small efforts. Find happiness in those little things other expecting something that some completely different person did for somebody else. And keep doing such small things for your loved ones as well as strangers. It might not take you a lot of hard work and time but it will surely make the other person's day.
